Weygovy weight loss injection
Weygovy is a weight loss injection designed to be taken weekly for long lasting weight loss results.
Weygovy weight loss injection
Weygovy is a weekly weight loss injection that you administer yourself and contains the active ingredient Semaglutide. The medication mimics GLP-1 to increase the feeling of fullness and ensure that your appetite is reduced. This will make portion control and calorie control much easier. The medication is gradually increased from the lowest dose of 0.25mg to 2.4mg over a period of weeks which is injected under the skin using the pen device.
It is suitable for most patients over 18 years of age with a BMI of 30 or a BMI of 27 with another condition that would benefit from losing weight loss. The goal is to lose 5-10% within the fist 12 weeks of treatment. Before starting the course of treatment you will be assessed to see if this medication is suitable for you. We also warn patients that the medication can cause some undesired effects and it is important that you understand these before commencing treatment.

The patient information leaflet is available here, for more detailed medication information.
Consultations - What to Expect
Face-to-Face Appointments
Our in-person clinics are held at QRPMS, situated at Queens Road Surgery and begin with a full assessment, including measurements of height, weight, BMI, waist circumference, and blood pressure. We also review any current medications to identify if adjustments may be helpful for weight management. Together, we’ll explore lifestyle factors and any barriers to weight loss before setting realistic, personalised goals. If an injectable treatment is chosen, we’ll demonstrate how to use it during the appointment.
Virtual Appointments
Virtual clinics are conducted via Microsoft Teams for your convenience. At the start of your appointment, you’ll be asked to weigh yourself on camera so we can accurately record your current weight. The rest of the consultation mirrors our face-to-face appointments, including a review of medication, lifestyle, and goal setting, along with guidance on injectable treatments if applicable.
