Saxenda can cause nausea and vomiting, diarrhoea or constipation. Also associated with headaches and tiredness and can have localised reactions at the site of injection. For full product information please review the patient information leaflet.

Ozempic can cause swelling/redness/itching at the injection site, tiredness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea or constipation may occur. Nausea usually lessens as you continue to use semaglutide. For full product information please review the patient information leaflets below.

Orlistat is a daily capsule, Saxenda is a daily injection and Ozempic is a weekly injection. Please look on the website for how each work individually they are all best used alongside a healthy diet and increased activity.

Anyone wanting to be considered for a weight loss programme must complete a medical questionnaire. We will look at everyone individually based on the answers to your medical questionnaire and a number of other factors before we decide together what will work best for you. This will also be regularly reviewed on beginning any treatment course.

All patients need to have a BMI >30 and not be excluded due to other criteria. This will be detailed in the medical questionnaire you complete. Or we can also support patients with a BMI > 27 if they have another health condition that would benefit from weight reduction.

We look at patients after 12 weeks and the majority of patients who follow the plan of medication, healthy eating, and increased activity will demonstrate a reduction in weight. The weight loss injections do take some time for you to experience the full effect so do not worry if you do not see immediate results. The capsules should help you achieve a steady weight loss if used alongside lifestyle changes and you will see this effect within first 1-2 weeks.

We will demonstrate using a dummy product for every patient and you will be able to self inject confidently after this appointment. However for those unsure and on weekly injections we will offer an option to attend for weekly administration and weigh in at the clinic for an additional fee.

Rapid weight loss rather than medication is the cause of excess sagging skin and something we would discourage. We would aim to support your weight loss at a healthy rate and this should ensure the body adjusts and is considered more successful for long term results. We also suggest good hydration and nutrition which we can support you with on your weight loss journey.

Generally this treatment is for those with a BMI  > 30 so would be classed as obese however those overweight with a BMI of 27 or more would be considered if they have a condition that would benefit from weight loss.

We have to inform your GP once you are assessed and accepted for treatment and begin medication. This will usually be sent to your GP within 7 days.

We recommend and can advise on a healthy diet. as using both the product and healthy eating will deliver the best results.

We would recommend being on this programme for a minimum of 12 weeks if medication is tolerated and we would review at this stage. Once a patient has reached a healthy BMI you can make a decision at this stage to stop or adjust the programme to maintain this.

We complete a demonstration with every patient and the products are designed to make administering the correct dose really easy. However if you do have any concerns we can arrange a further appointment to discuss any issues in using the device.
